Which is More Cost-Effective?
Price Evolution of Interactive Displays
and Interactive Projectors Over Time
In 2008, a 65-inch touchscreen cost around €10,000. Today, it costs 10 times less, going for under €1,000. The minimum price for an interactive projector has remained the same, around €1,500, and in some cases has even increased. This price does not include the significantly higher installation and maintenance costs compared to an interactive screen, which also offers lower reliability.

Thanks to a wide range of sizes, interactive displays can equip most classrooms and meeting rooms, from smallest to largest. They cover the most needs while being cheaper than an interactive projector. However, the latter solution should be considered for very large spaces.
Snellen Test
At an Equal Viewing Distance, Which Interactive Display and Interactive Projector Screen Sizes to Choose?
Should you choose the same display size for a projector and for an interactive display, when the viewing distance is the same?
The answer is no. This conclusion comes from applying the Snellen test on a 55” interactive display and a 110” interactive projector. Comparing the diagonal length of a touchscreen to that of an interactive projector is a mistake. The excellent resolution and image quality of the touchscreen ensure significantly better visibility compared to the image of the interactive projector, even at the same size
The diagonal length of an interactive display needs to be about half that of an interactive projector for an image to be perceived similarly on both display solutions.
