Comparing
Interactive Displays

and Interactive Projectors

Which Solution for You?

The Interactive Projector was initially the go-to equipment for schools aiming to transform their classrooms
into interactive learning environments. However, in recent years, schools have increasingly turned to interactive displays
for their classrooms. Why this shift?

What is an Interactive Display?

Endangered Species:
Interactive Projectors & IWB

Highly praised by teachers upon its release in the 2000s, the interactive whiteboard (IWB) consists of an interactive projector mounted on the ceiling, projecting images coming from the connected PC onto a whiteboard and making it interactive and touch-sensitive using a finger or stylus.

However, technical issues arose over time, leading to its gradual replacement by the interactive display, which offers numerous advantages.

A Highly Connected Interactive Display

The 6 Advantages of the Interactive Display

The 6 Advantages of the Interactive Display

An Image Quality…

Far superior in terms of contrast, sharpness, and resolution.

A Lifespan…

10 times longer than an interactive projector: approximately 50,000 hours compared to about 5,000 hours for a good projector lamp.

An Unmatched Interactivity…

Finger or stylus operated, with no loss of precision over time, thanks to sensors positioned all around the screen.

No Shadow Interference…

an optimal writing comfort: even with an ultra-short throw, an interactive projector still projects a shadow.

No Adjustments Needed…

An ultra-short throw interactive projector requires a skilled installer to get top quality images.

No Glare…

On an interactive screen.

Interactive Display or Interactive Projector:
Which is More Cost-Effective?

Snellen Test

At an Equal Viewing Distance, Which Interactive Display and Interactive Projector Screen Sizes to Choose?

Should you choose the same display size for a projector and for an interactive display, when the viewing distance is the same?

The answer is no. This conclusion comes from applying the Snellen test on a 55” interactive display and a 110” interactive projector. Comparing the diagonal length of a touchscreen to that of an interactive projector is a mistake. The excellent resolution and image quality of the touchscreen ensure significantly better visibility compared to the image of the interactive projector, even at the same size

The diagonal length of an interactive display needs to be about half that of an interactive projector for an image to be perceived similarly on both display solutions.
