Large-format display screens are the ultimate way to capture the attention of your audience, customers, or guests. But what are they, and what will influence their price? Read on to find out.
Over the last couple of decades, corporate marketing and communication methods have transformed completely.
Almost everywhere, static paper posters and signs have been abandoned in place of digital signage, and it is easy to see why. With stunning display quality, lifelike detail, and products showcased in all their colourful, vivid glory, display screens are infinitely more effective when it comes to attracting the attention of passers-by.
What are large format display screens?
As the name implies, a large format display screen is a large electronic screen, and it can be used to display anything – from menus and information to photos, videos and advertisements.
If you have ever taken a walk down Oxford Street, Regent Street or Piccadilly Circus, your attention will have been captured at some point by the seas of vivid, eye-catching screens. From sparkling accessories and models on catwalks to huge graphic ‘50% off’ animations, their impactful messaging can be seen in equal clarity by both day and night.
At this point, it is worth noting the difference between a large format display screen and an interactive screen.
While interactive screens are touch-sensitive and generally come with built-in webcams, a display screen really is just for displaying content. Their screens will not be touch-sensitive, and its technological design will prioritise display quality above interactivity.
With that said, interactive smart screens can also be used for digital signage, and Speechi interactive whiteboards are compatible with Touchify digital signage software.
However, it is worth thinking about your intended use-case. For example, will staff or members of the public ever use the touch-screen or webcam functions? In most cases, display screens are out of public reach, so a lot of the built-in features of an interactive screen are rendered redundant.
What influences the price and cost of a large format display screen?
When it comes to the price of a large format display screen, the main factor to keep in mind is screen size.
At Speechi, we offer a range of sizes for display screens, but if you are looking for a large format display screen, we would recommend our 65-, 75- and 86-inch screen options. While this may be obvious, the larger the screen size, the higher the price will be.
Secondly, the screen resolution of your large format display will affect the price of your product. Display screens can come in two different resolutions – Full HD, and 4K Ultra High Definition (UHD). At Speechi, we believe that digital signage screens should be equipped with the very best display resolution, which is why all of our display screens have 4K UHD screen resolution.
Lastly, it is important to think about what kind of display screen software you would want to use in order to create your content, because the software may require a paid licence.
Speechi offers two different ranges of digital signage screens: SpeechiTouch and SuperGlass screens. The price you pay for software will depend on which line of products you choose.
However, with SpeechiDisplay screens, Touchify display software comes at an extra cost as it requires a licence. With the Touchify Studio and Publish, you can quickly create and broadcast stunning multimedia content, with the ability to separate elements onto multiple layers.
We also offer a 1-year Touchify licence with SpeechiDisplay screens as a bundle. These are a great option for getting started quickly.”
